Dewberry is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer- Healthcare in Nashville, TN.

Responsible for providing technical guidance and training/mentoring of our design resources in all areas of work we do including all types of healthcare associated with plumbing engineering. Assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client's desires and budget. Work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects. In addition to working with plumbing designers, this individual will team with architectural, electrical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients. In short, provide technical guidance associated with plumbing requirements to accomplish our commitments. Will report to the Plumbing Discipline Manager.

Responsibilities




    Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:
  • * Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving plumbing engineering.
  • * Technical training and development of staff.
  • * Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for plumbing discipline area.
  • * Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
  • * Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
  • * Technical interface with code officials and contractors.





Required Skills & Required Experience




  • Accomplished plumbing designer/engineer with 10+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of plumbing systems for healthcare projects.
  • Experience should include design and evaluation of medical gas systems found in a typical hospital, ambulatory surgery centers, freestanding emergency departments, medical office buildings, technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, takes good notes.
