Job summary

Interface Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer (MEP) in San Francisco, CA, offering a hybrid schedule (2 in-office days per week).

You will lead plumbing design on multiple projects, prepare drawings, and guide staff while collaborating across the MEP team to deliver high-performance buildings. You bring 10+ years in MEP plumbing, strong project leadership, and solid knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards, with a PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years in MEP plumbing design/consulting.
• Experience in team leadership and project management.
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards.
• Thorough understanding of building codes.

Responsibilities

• Own plumbing design leadership on multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer at Interface, you will be taking ownership as a discipline leader on multiple projects. Your duties will include, but may not be limited to:

• Responsibility for plumbing system selection, engineering & design
• Preparation of Plumbing drawings, sketches, analysis, specifications, and calculations
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Providing management and oversight of plumbing design support staff
• Providing construction administration & site observations related to your projects.
• Delivering exemplary service and support to team members and clients.
• Supporting overall project management to our MEP team leaders.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience equivalent to a degree.
• 10+ years' experience in MEP plumbing design/consulting
• Team leadership/management experience
• Project management experience in the MEP space
• Working knowledge of IPC/UPC and IBC standards
• Complete understanding of building codes
• Thorough design system knowledge

Preferred

• A Professional Engineering License (or equivalent experience)
• CPD Certification
• LEED Accreditation
• Working Autodesk REVIT knowledge
