Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking an experienced Senior Plumber to install, repair, and maintain natural gas, water, or wastewater lines and fixtures in City-owned buildings. You will provide journey-level instruction and leadership for lower level plumbers.

Responsibilities include supervising crews, planning installations, and ensuring code compliance. Candidates must hold a Texas Journeyman license and a valid driver’s license, with overtime and emergency availability as required.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Journeyman (or higher) Plumber's license.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains water, gas, and wastewater lines and fixtures in City buildings.
• Plans installation of pipelines and projects, including parts and man-hours cost projections.
• Educates lower level plumbers in code, tools, and practices for promotion.
• Leads crew to ensure code-compliant work and tracks leave, hours, and performance.
• Frames and threads iron pipe for gas and water lines.
• Removes clogs from wastewater systems using appropriate tools.
• Makes minor repairs to pumps and irrigation lines.
• Performs other assigned duties as needed.
