Job summary

Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA, seeks a skilled plumber to maintain and repair hospital piping, domestic water, hydronic and medical gas systems, including pumps, valves and heat exchangers.

You will plan and perform project work, ensure code compliance, serve as SME for plumbing in both operational and capital projects, and respond to work orders as part of the facilities team.

Qualifications

  • Backflow certification required within 180 days of hire.
  • 4 years journey-level plumber experience required.
  • Med Gas certification preferred at hire.

Job description

Performs maintenance and repairs on hospital piping systems including domestic water systems, closed loop hydronics systems, medical gas systems, along with associated equipment for those systems such as pumps, backflow preventers, heat exchangers, valves, traps, and fixtures. Plans, estimates and performs project work of the same systems. Ensures that all installations and maintenance activities are per applicable codes. Functions as department subject matter expert (SME) for plumbing services for operational and capital projects; as well as supporting and advising other members of the facilities engineering department team in their plumbing related work. Respond to work orders as a general member of the facilities team, regardless of scope or category of work.

Required qualifications:
  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Backflow Certification (Facility Managed).
  • 4 years Journey-level experience as a plumber.

  • Upon hire: Med Gas Certification

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
