Job summary

The Railroad Commission of Texas seeks a State Managed Plugger to perform advanced technical fieldwork in the Midland District Office. Responsibilities include monitoring plugging, salvage, and site cleanup to isolate productive, potential flow, and corrosive zones while protecting State Usable Quality Waters for plugged wells.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in oilfield operations, knowledge of plugging techniques, and the ability to work under supervision of the Lead Plugger and District

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Five years of oilfield operations experience in drilling and cementing.
Ability to live in or relocate to the Midland District, TX.

Responsibilities

Inspect orphan wells to verify condition and access needs.
Perform and analyze fluid level tests on orphan wells.
Monitor plugging and salvage operations for orphan wells.
Conduct NORM surveys on salvage items.
Collect and correlate engineering and geological data.
Dig soil samples to locate lines/wells up to 30 inches deep.
