Oracle’s Confident Commits team builds testing services, frameworks, and infrastructure to validate code changes before deployment. The role focuses on delivering reliable platform services, improving testing workflows, and reducing friction across CI/CD environments.

The candidate will own features from design through production, collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, and help scale validation for high-volume code changes, with a strong emphasis on reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering production-quality distributed systems, platform services, or developer tools.
• Strong programming skills in modern languages such as Java, Go, C++, C#, Python, or similar.
• Experience designing APIs, data models, and service architectures with scalability, availability, security, and operability in mind.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native systems, including containers, orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or release engineering concepts.
• Demonstrated ownership: ability to drive work from problem definition through design, implementation, launch, and ongoing operation.

The Confident Commits team is building the next generation of testing service, frameworks, platforms, and infrastructure, enabling engineers to validate changes quickly, confidently, and consistently before they reach production. Our mission is to make testing frictionless, capture and analyze results regardless of execution environment, and ensure every code change is properly validated before deployment.

We are looking for high agency SDES who are passionate about developer productivity and building platforms that help thousands of engineers move faster without sacrificing quality. Confident Commits is a foundational enabler that , help changes move safely and rapidly from development to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and operate reliable services, frameworks, and infrastructure that support the Confident Commits platform.
• Build capabilities that make testing easier to run, easier to understand, and easier to integrate across different development and execution environments.
• Implement features that capture, normalize, store, and surface test results consistently across pipelines, local development, CI/CD systems, and other supported environments.
• Improve developer productivity by reducing testing friction, shortening feedback cycles, and helping engineers validate code changes before deployment.
• Support Oracle’s AI Enablement strategy by helping scale testing and validation infrastructure for higher volumes of code changes and automated change generation.
• Partner with senior engineers, SDMs, product stakeholders, and internal developer teams to clarify requirements, break down work, and deliver well-scoped engineering tasks.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and pre-production issues in testing services and infrastructure with appropriate urgency and ownership.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code with clear documentation, operational readiness, and measurable quality improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, operational reviews, and team planning to improve platform reliability, usability, and engineering standards.

Expectations

• Deliver assigned features, fixes, and platform improvements with clear scope, predictable execution, and measurable impact on developer productivity or test reliability.
• Demonstrate independent ownership of at module level work items from design clarification through implementation, validation, rollout, and operational follow-up.
• Produce code that meets team standards for correctness, maintainability, test coverage, observability, and production readiness.
• Use data and operational signals to identify testing bottlenecks, flaky behavior, reliability gaps, or areas where developer feedback cycles can be improved.
• Drive measurable improvements such as reduced test execution time, improved result accuracy, lower failure investigation time, increased platform adoption, or reduced operational toil.
• Communicate progress, risks, blockers, and tradeoffs clearly and early to the team, SDM, and relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams across the US and IDC, maintaining clear written communication and strong follow-through.
• Learn and apply team architecture, service ownership practices, CI/CD patterns, testing frameworks, and operational processes.
• Participate in on-call, incident response, and operational health reviews as appropriate for the team’s service ownership model.

Required qualifications

Preferred qualifications

• Application deployment platforms, continuous delivery, GitOps, artifact management, or developer platform engineering.
• Large-scale distributed systems, multi-tenant cloud services, control planes, or workflow orchestration.
• Site reliability engineering, production incident response, observability, or capacity and performance engineering.
• Security engineering, identity and access management, policy-as-code, supply-chain security, or compliance automation.
• AI-assisted developer tools, agentic workflows, or the design of safety controls for autonomous or semi-autonomous systems.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $92,500 - $209,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
