Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Cumulus Linux team in Santa Clara. The role focuses on core platform services, reliability, availability and serviceability for the Debian-based OS used on NVIDIA Ethernet switches.

You will design and implement software for Cumulus Linux, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work on bringing up the OS on new NVIDIA switches with strong C and Python coding skills and Linux system knowledge.

Qualifications

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Bachelors (or equivalent experience).
Strong C and Python coding skills.
Proven software development experience with Linux systems and OS-level tooling.
Experience with I2C, PSUs, SMBus, PHY/Layer-1 technologies and datacenter switch bringups.
Excellent communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Design and develop software for Cumulus Linux OS on NVIDIA data center switches.
Bring up Cumulus Linux on next-generation NVIDIA switches.
Develop and maintain software in Python, C and Shell.
Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver roadmap features.
Debug and resolve issues reported by test and customer-facing teams.
Work with open-source software in the OS and fix issues as they arise.
