GTN Technical Staffing is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to build backend services, APIs, internal tooling, and automation that support large-scale infrastructure environments.

This software-first role emphasizes Python, Kubernetes, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation, delivering production-quality solutions to improve reliability, scalability, observability, and self-service capabilities for complex systems.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background building backend services, APIs, internal tools, or automation.
• Strong Python development skills or experience with another modern backend language.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and code review.
• Experience building infrastructure or platform automation.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Jinja2, or similar technologies.
• Experience integrating systems through APIs or event-driven workflows.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, routing, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to build backend services, APIs, internal tooling, and automation that support large-scale infrastructure environments.

This is a software-first role focused on Python, Kubernetes, platform engineering, and infrastructure automation. The ideal candidate has strong development fundamentals and can build production-quality software that improves reliability, scalability, observability, and self-service infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Build backend services, APIs, internal tools, and automation platforms.
• Develop production-quality software using Python or similar backend languages.
• Build tooling across Kubernetes and containerized environments.
