Job summary

Radiant Logistics is seeking a Senior Platform Services Engineer in Renton, WA to own the shared platform foundation for authentication, authorization, and observability. The role drives CI/CD adoption and platform-as-a-product practices, delivering core services and API contracts with minimal daily oversight.

The incumbent will mentor engineers, define standards, and coordinate with product and design-system teams to ensure scalable, production-grade delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in software engineering, with platform/backend focus.
• Hands-on expertise in authentication and authorization (OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, token/session models).
• Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry observability (tracing/metrics/logging) as a shared standard.
• Proven experience designing and operating shared services, API/BFF contracts, and platform-as-a-product.
• Strong CI/CD, IaC, and cloud experience (AWS/Azure) with automated gates.
• Track record of setting technical standards, code reviews, and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent written and asynchronous communication with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the shared authentication and authorization layer for internal and external users.
• Own observability as a shared capability, including instrumentation, tracing, metrics, and logging.
• Develop and productize common platform services and API/BFF contracts used across teams.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and automated guardrails to ship safely at scale.
• Define and maintain integration contracts with legacy enterprise systems, simplifying team work.
• Provide technical leadership and code reviews as teams scale.
• Collaborate with product and front-end platform teams on feasibility and design-system infra.
• Set technical standards and mentor engineers over time.
• Triage requests to keep the core v1 scope tight and defer non-core work.
