Job summary
Walmart Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer to join our Kubernetes platform team in Denver.
This role focuses on operational excellence, incident prevention, and scalable reliability, working with platform engineers to ensure safe releases and production stability. You’ll build dashboards, improve monitoring and SLIs, and contribute to runbooks and post-mortems while advancing a culture of ownership and methodological problem-solving across the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/IS or related field with 3 years' software engineering experience.
- Alternatively, 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build visibility into platform health dashboards and metrics.
- Partner with platform engineers to improve resiliency and observability.
- Design and improve monitoring, alerting, and SLIs.
- Drive continuous improvement for platform stability and operational excellence.
- Maintain documentation including runbooks and post-mortems.
- Participate in on-call rotation and own incident response where appropriate.
