Job summary

Who are we looking for

We are looking for a Senior Platform Infrastructure Engineer with 5–8 years of experience to own and scale the infrastructure that powers Spade's high-throughput enrichment platform. You're someone who's been there and done that – you've built and scaled AWS infrastructure at a fast-moving startup, you know how to take an existing architecture to the next level, and you're equally comfortable standing up something new from scratch. This is a high-ownership role where you'll be building the roads that other engineers drive on – creating paved paths, reusable tooling, and observability primitives so product teams can ship and operate new products without reinventing infrastructure. You'll partner closely with an existing infrastructure engineer and a small, tight-knit engineering team that moves fast and ships constantly.

What you will be doing

• Building and maintaining highly scalable, reproducible AWS infrastructure (ECS/Fargate, Aurora Postgres, S3) that product engineers can self-serve on top of
• Designing and implementing developer tooling, service templates, and scaffolds that give engineers a clear paved path to spin up, monitor, and operate new products at scale
• Owning and improving observability and monitoring systems – setting the standard for how teams instrument, alert on, and debug production services
• Building and upgrading internal frameworks for asynchronous and batch processing that other engineers build product functionality on top of
• Getting hands dirty in Python and Django when needed – understanding the backend systems deeply enough to make informed infrastructure decisions and help scale the API layer
