Job summary

Oracle Corporation in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to design and deliver a modern application deployment platform on OCI. You will build reliable, scalable deployment capabilities that empower developers to move faster while maintaining security and governance.

The role requires a BS in CS/Engineering or equivalent, 5+ years of distributed systems experience, and strong skills in Java or other modern languages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering production-quality distributed systems or developer tools.
• Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Java, Go, C++, C#, Python, or similar.
• Experience designing APIs, data models, and service architectures for scalable, secure systems.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native systems including containers, orchestration, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate core services and APIs for a modern application deployment platform on OCI.
• Deliver resilient, scalable deployment workflows to safely ship changes across environments and architectures.
• Partner with product managers, architects, security engineers, SREs, and developer teams to translate needs into designs and high‑quality software.
• Build safety and reliability into the product by default: isolation, policy enforcement, auditability, observability, rollback/recovery, and robust failure handling.
• Develop platform primitives enabling AI-assisted engineering workflows with proper controls and least-privilege access.
• Use operational signals and customer feedback to improve developer experience, performance, and deployment success rates.
• Raise the engineering bar through code reviews, design reviews, documentation, mentoring, and pragmatic technical leadership.
