Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer—Platform / Linux Engineering to design, build, and optimize Linux‑based compute platforms powering low‑latency electronic trading. You will lead hands‑on engineering, architect deployment models, and drive performance across hardware, kernel, and network layers.

You will mentor cross‑functional teams, introduce AI‑assisted tooling to accelerate delivery, and ensure secure, scalable platform reliability.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Strong programming skills with production‑grade tooling and automation (Python/Go/Bash).
• Deep, hands‑on Linux engineering expertise incl. performance tuning and low‑latency environments (kernel tuning, CPU/NUMA).
• Hands‑on experience with kernel‑bypass networking and configuration management (Chef/Ansible).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high‑performance Linux platforms for low‑latency trading.
• Architect new system designs and deployment models (immutable infra, containers, automation).
• Perform deep performance engineering, latency optimization, and precise timing.
• Write production‑quality code and automation to improve tooling and reliability.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate engineering tasks and enable faster delivery.
• Govern AI‑assisted practices across teams with validation standards for security and performance.
• Interface with hardware and software vendors on infrastructure roadmaps.
• Deliver reusable technical solutions and mentor SREs and engineers across teams.
