Job summary

American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) is seeking a Sr Platform Engineer I to join our Platform Engineering and DevOps organization. The role focuses on secure, scalable cloud adoption and software delivery, with emphasis on automation, reliability, and self-service for developers.

Responsibilities include platform delivery across Azure, IaC, CI/CD, security controls, observability, and cost optimization, while enabling dev teams with self-service templates and golden paths.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in cloud platform engineering, software, systems or DevOps with scalable distributed systems on IaaS/PaaS.
• Experience designing IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and automated platform provisioning.
• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps practices across development, security, and operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and reliability improvement skills.
• Familiarity with identity management and securing cloud resources.
• Experience with cloud observability, logging, and monitoring.
• Exposure to migration from on‑prem to cloud; AI/ML platform services preferred.
• Experience enabling microservices and async integration patterns.
• Security/compliance controls knowledge; self-service enablement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Platform Engineering Delivery across cloud compute, storage, networking, and runtime layers on Azure.
• Deploy and operate containerized platform-native runtime services.
• Implement infrastructure provisioning using IaC.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance reusable platform components and automation frameworks.
• Implement security controls and policy enforcement defined by platform standards.
• Enable compliance and governance through automated guardrails.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions; drive platform observability.
• Support cost optimization and ensure reliability via automated recovery patterns.
• Enable consistent app deployment patterns and developer tooling.
