Job summary

Mayo Clinic Platform seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure and APIs. You will create reusable Terraform modules, manage Kubernetes clusters, and implement GitOps for self-service cloud provisioning.

You will collaborate across teams to meet security, compliance, and operational goals while optimizing cloud spend and delivering scalable platform services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant information technology field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of infra/platform/backend engineering with increasing complexity.
• 3–5 years of professional cloud engineering building production platform services.
• Experience delivering software in cross-functional teams using Agile practices.
• Production experience with Go and backend APIs; Terraform for IaC.
• Linux systems administration in production; scripting with bash or Python.
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud-native tooling (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Familiarity with healthcare data privacy, security, or compliance concepts; secure engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Google Cloud infrastructure (networking, IAM, compute, storage).
• Create and maintain Terraform modules with tests and policy validation.
• Operate production Kubernetes clusters with scaling, networking, and multi-tenancy controls.
• Develop platform APIs and Go services for self-service cloud provisioning.
• Maintain GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps pipelines; implement GitOps with Argo CD.
• Automate provisioning, rotation, and security controls; write automated tests; instrument observability.
