Job summary

A high-growth AI healthcare firm is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to design and build core systems for an advanced AI platform. You will work in a hands-on role focused on scalable backend services and reliability with a talented engineering team. Ideal candidates have 6+ years of engineering experience, proficiency in Python, and a strong background in AI applications. The role offers a hybrid working model in Palo Alto and competitive compensation with equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience.
• Proven experience building and scaling generative AI applications in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python (plus TypeScript or Java).
• Experience with a compiled language such as Go or Rust.
• Solid understanding of microservices and API-driven architectures.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and monitoring tools.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred).
• Able to work hybrid (3 days/week in Palo Alto).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services within a distributed architecture.
• Write clean, efficient, and production-ready code.
• Contribute to system design, architecture, and technical decision-making.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, and performance.
• Collaborate across engineering to deliver features end-to-end.
• Participate in code reviews and support live systems when needed.
