Job summary

Boston Scientific in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable Model Context Protocol (MCP) capabilities across enterprise AI and multi-cloud environments. This hybrid role requires presence in Marlborough, MA at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/IS or equivalent.
• 5+ years in enterprise/cloud/platform engineering or distributed systems.
• Experience designing large-scale hybrid/multi-cloud platforms.
• Strong MCP, AI agents, LLMs, RAG knowledge.
• AWS and Azure expertise.
• Enterprise APIs, microservices and integration architecture knowledge.
• OAuth/OIDC, IAM (RBAC/ABAC), and Zero Trust security.
• Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD and IaC.
• Roadmaps, governance frameworks and standards development.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise MCP strategy, architecture, standards and roadmaps across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Design, build and operate scalable MCP platforms connecting AI agents, enterprise APIs, applications and data sources.
• Establish MCP gateway and control plane with service discovery, authentication, authorization, routing, policy enforcement and observability.
• Develop standardized deployment and integration patterns across AWS, Azure, and enterprise platforms.
• Implement Zero Trust security, identity management, least-privilege access and AI agent threat safeguards.
• Define secure AI agent integration patterns, including tool execution and identity propagation.
• Establish MCP governance, service lifecycle, architecture certification and reliability standards.
• Develop reusable frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, IaC and self-service developer capabilities.
• Partner with EA, cybersecurity and engineering teams to drive platform adoption and scalability.
