Moody's is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Data Platform Engineering team in Newark, CA. You will design and implement scalable database solutions, REST APIs, and platform components using Java, C#, and SQL Server.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or CS and 8+ years of experience; experience with microservices, NoSQL/SQL databases, Docker and Kubernetes is preferred. Travel around 5%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience.
• Experience delivering RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native apps.
• Proficiency with relational databases (SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle) and NoSQL.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and multi-threading.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable database solutions and platform components.
• Develop REST APIs and microservices with enterprise-grade tech.
• Define multi-year technical strategies and mentor engineers.
• Lead cross-team discussions and evaluate technical trade-offs.
