Job summary

Versant Media is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer located in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. In this vital role, you will enhance platform growth for Fandango and other brands by building and maintaining core platform infrastructure.

You’ll focus on cloud architecture including AWS, CI/CD, and mentoring junior engineers. Excellent communication skills are essential to collaborate with diverse teams and ensure optimal developer productivity.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with AWS.
• 4+ years managing Linux systems.
• 3+ years of experience with Python for automation.
• Practical experience with Git and automated workflows.
• Familiar with AWS security best practices.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts.
• Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
• 3+ years of Terraform experience.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog and ELK.
• Incident management experience with PagerDuty.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core platform infrastructure.
• Drive solution architecture and delivery for engineering teams.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions.
• Design reusable cloud infrastructure patterns.
• Promote software delivery practices amongst teams.
• Collaborate with engineering to understand their needs.
• Monitor and optimize cloud spending.
