Job summary

Oracle Corporation’s Cloud Infrastructure group in Nashville is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to build and own backend platform components, APIs, and developer tooling for OCI services. You will partner across OCI teams to evolve platform capabilities with reliable interfaces and secure multi-tenant designs.

The role requires 4+ years of software development, strong OO language skills (Java, C++, C#, or Go), and experience with microservices, API design, and service reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of professional software-development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one OO language such as Java, C++, C#, or Go.
• Experience designing backend services, APIs, microservices, SDKs.
• Understanding distributed-systems fundamentals and secure development practices.
• Experience with API design, versioning, testing, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and collaboration with ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate backend platform components, APIs, SDKs, and integration frameworks used by OCI services.
• Own a defined platform area and evolve its contracts, versioning, and interoperability for secure, multi-tenant use.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across distributed services; deliver compatibility-safe fixes and upgrade paths.
• Improve availability, performance, capacity, and operability through resilience patterns, monitoring, and automation.
• Partner with engineers across OCI to understand consumer needs, review designs and code, and guide adoption of platform capabilities.
• Create high-quality technical documentation, samples, and operational guidance for platform consumers.
• Participate in service support and continuous-improvement efforts, including incident investigation and root-cause follow-up.
