Job summary

LifeMD is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and build the foundation our engineering teams ship on, codifying AWS infrastructure with Terraform and Pulumi, and running workloads across ECS, EKS, and EC2. This hands-on role focuses on scalable backend systems, microservices migration, and robust tooling.

You will own observability in Datadog with SLOs and dashboards, mentor engineers, lead incident reviews, and drive secure, reliable platform practices in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE with strong software background.
• Production Terraform experience; Pulumi or equivalent tooling.
• Expert AWS knowledge across ECS, EC2, VPC, and networking.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript with testing/CI practices.
• Experience decomposing monoliths and migrating to microservices.
• Strong observability skills and experience with Datadog.
• Proven leadership and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure as code with Terraform and Pulumi.
• Operate and evolve ECS/EC2 container platforms, including autoscaling and networking.
• Lead migration to microservices and establish CI/CD deployment paths.
• Develop internal tooling in a general-purpose language.
• Own observability—SLOs, dashboards, and alerting in Datadog.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews to improve platforms.
• Mentor engineers and set platform standards across teams.
• Champion security, compliance, and reliability in healthcare.
