Job summary

Apple is seeking a Platform Software Engineer for AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) in Sunnyvale, CA. You will help build the automation layer for PostgreSQL databases powering Apple’s workloads across Services, Manufacturing, AIML, and beyond.

You will ship API-driven microservices, improve observability and reliability, and push the boundaries of automation with AI-enabled configuration and scheduling, impacting millions of users worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience building highly available software services or platform infrastructure.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining API-driven microservices.
• Proficient in Python optionally Java/Kotlin/C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Automation Development: Design and build tools to streamline database management tasks and performance tuning, including AI/ML-driven capabilities.
• API-Driven Services: Design, build, and maintain secure, versioned microservices exposing database lifecycle operations as APIs.
• CI/CD: Integrate database management automation into CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, canary rollouts, and rollback capabilities.
• Monitoring and Alerting: Develop and enhance monitoring, alerting, and health-check systems with deep observability for platform and customers.
