Job summary

Caylent, a fully remote AI-first cloud services company, seeks a backend/GenAI engineer to join our Builders team. You will build and extend Caylent’s internal AI-native platform, leveraging Python, Terraform, React/Vite, and AWS Bedrock to automate processes and deliver value to internal stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate across departments, mentor peers, and influence how the business operates by shipping scalable and reliable cloud-native tools.

Qualifications

• Experience developing Generative AI solutions. Build at least one end-to-end AI feature.
• Proficiency in Python for backend development.
• Experience deploying and managing services in a cloud-native environment.
• Frontend development experience with React/Vite for building user interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design backend services with Python and Terraform.

Mission

The mission of this role is to build and extend Caylent’s internal AI-native platform, spanning process automation, GenAI/agentic tooling (built on AWS Bedrock), and delivery enablement, while maintaining the services that power it. As a key member of our Builders team, you’ll collaborate closely with teammates and temporary collaborators, sharing knowledge and mentoring others while directly addressing the needs of internal stakeholders across the organization.

Growth Opportunities : Develop both technical depth in cloud-native architecture and business acumen as you translate organizational challenges into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement backend solutions for core services using Python and Terraform.
• Build and extend GenAI/agentic solutions (RAG, tool-calling agents, evaluation loops) on AWS Bedrock as part of our platform stack.
• Contribute to frontend interfaces (React/Vite) for the tools and platforms you help build.
• Optimize and maintain cloud native applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to drive the development of tools that enhance process efficiency and automate repetitive tasks.
• Contribute to service enhancements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical best practices.

Qualifications:

• Experience developing Generative AI solutions. Must have built at least one simple AI-powered feature or application end-to-end, and be comfortable with the AI SDLC, not just theoretical exposure.
• Proficiency in Python for backend development.
• Experience deploying and managing services in a cloud-native environment.
• Experience developing Generative AI solutions
• Experience with frontend development (React/Vite) for building user interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of AI/ML model integration and working with AI platforms like AWS Bedrock
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with Rust
• Understanding of business processes related to process optimization and SG&A efficiency.
