Our client is seeking aSenior Platform Engineer (AWS/Node.js/Python) to help build, scale, and support a modern cloud platform within a growing technology environment. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has built cloud infrastructure and platforms from the ground up, with a strong focus onAWS and Kubernetes. The role will also work closely with applications in production, requiring a strong understanding of application support and the ability to work across Python, Node.js, and React environments.
Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer (AWS/Node.js/Python)
Compensation: Up to $80/hour
Location:Naperville, IL (Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite per Week)
Duration : 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and supporting cloud infrastructure within AWS.
- Experience building cloud platforms and infrastructure from the ground up, rather than solely maintaining existing environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
- Experience setting up and managing infrastructure that supports scalable, production-grade applications.
- Strong understanding of application support, including troubleshooting issues across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automation, and CI/CD processes.
- Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, observability, incident management, and production support.
- Experience working across both infrastructure and application environments.
- Full-stack development experience working across Python, Node.js, and React, with the ability to understand and support applications running within cloud environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and determine whether problems originate within the application, infrastructure, containers, or broader cloud environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and supporting Kubernetes environments within AWS, including Amazon EKS.
- Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Background spanning Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or full-stack application engineering.
- Experience working in environments where engineers have ownership across both cloud infrastructure and the applications running on top of it.
Additional Information
- Hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite in Naperville, IL.
- 6-month contract with the intention of converting to a full-time employee.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship available.
- This is a hands‑on position focused on both building cloud infrastructure and supporting the applications running within the environment.
