Job description

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer. In this fully remote role, you'll ensure the performance, security and durability of platforms (as well as maintaining the infrastructure and services required to support them). Our ideal candidates will come with expertise in Windows and Linux systems administration along with hands-on experience in Ansible and Terraform. Proficiency in YAML and PowerShell scripting is required. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

• Certify multiple hardware platforms and the interrelationship/interoperability of different operating systems and complex environments.
• Provide technical leadership and responsibility for the installation and certification of all supporting software and hardware in order to assure a sound deployment basis for production implementations.
• Developing data architecture to support both the production system, and the backend data science and modeling tools.
• Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into account target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems.
• Must be willing to adjust schedule to perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours and be part of an on-call rotation.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent years of experience is required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as 4 years of professional experience.

Experience

• 5 years - Experience in Information Technology required.
• 1 year - Experience in IT engineering in an enterprise environment.

Skills/Certifications

• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies including infrastructure services, platform technologies and monitoring tools.
• Systematic, fact based decision making and problem solving.
