Job summary

Vidha IT Solutions LLC is seeking a Sr. Platform Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise database solutions across hybrid environments. You will focus on performance, security, and high availability while aligning with strategic initiatives and improving member experiences.

The role involves leading database architecture, implementing DR and data retention policies, and collaborating with Agile teams to modernize platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5–7 years of database engineering/administration experience.
• Advanced expertise in Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL.
• Experience with performance tuning, DR, and capacity planning.
• Automation scripting with PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and manage advanced cloud database platforms (Azure SQL, Microsoft SQL).
• Optimize database performance, capacity, and reliability through monitoring and tuning.
• Develop automation scripts/workflows to streamline database operations.
• Design and enforce backup, disaster recovery, and data retention policies.
• Implement encryption, security protocols, and regulatory compliance measures.
• Collaborate with Agile teams, leveraging Liquibase for schema management.
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve complex database issues.
• Prepare technical documentation and deliver clear communications to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform modernization initiatives.

Sr. Platform Data Engineer

Role Overview

The Sr. Platform Data Engineer will join the Digital Engineering organization to design, implement, and optimize enterprise database solutions that power digital applications and services. This role focuses on performance, scalability, and security — ensuring high availability and compliance while supporting strategic initiatives and enhancing member experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and manage advanced cloud database platforms (Azure SQL, Microsoft SQL).
• Optimize database performance, capacity, and reliability through monitoring and tuning.
• Develop automation scripts/workflows to streamline database operations.
• Design and enforce backup, disaster recovery, and data retention policies.
• Implement encryption, security protocols, and regulatory compliance measures.
• Collaborate with Agile teams, leveraging Liquibase for schema management.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years in database engineering/administration.

• Hands‑on experience with automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
• Knowledge of secure data practices, data governance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven analytical/problem‑solving skills with advanced troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
• Hands‑on experience with Liquibase for schema changes.
• Background in platform engineering, infrastructure, cloud, or digital organizations.
• Familiarity with application modernization and decommissioning programs.
• Experience supporting risk, audit, cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory initiatives.
