Job summary

BD in the USA (GA - Covington) is seeking an Associate Principal Engineer to serve as the Platform Technology Architect for the Pump & Fluid Platform across the UCC urine evacuation portfolio. You will guide multi‑generation technology strategy and own architectural direction across performance, power, interfaces, and verification.

You will partner with engineering, quality, regulatory, operations, marketing, and service to ensure platform improvements are prioritized, reusable, and deployed

Qualifications

• BS/MS in mechanical/electrical/biomedical or related technical field.
• 10+ years in electromechanical medical devices or platform-based development.
• Proven success leading cross-functional technical strategy beyond single subsystems.
• Strong systems thinking, architecture, risk management, and verification experience.
• Ability to influence across multiple disciplines without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform capability roadmap across pump/fluid evacuation, battery, interfaces, and sensing.
• Define crawl/walk/run maturity steps aligned to product releases.
• Integrate inputs from VOC, service data, reliability trends, costs, and regulatory needs.
• Lead strategy reviews and publish roadmap with deliverables and metrics.
• Establish architecture principles, interfaces, guardrails, and reusable patterns.
• Serve as technical authority for platform changes and governance forums.
