Job summary

Solenis is hiring a Senior Plant Operator for our Suffolk, VA site to support safe, efficient production. You will collaborate with Maintenance, Lab, Engineering, and Materials Handling to maximize equipment performance and meet production targets.

The role supports the commissioning and startup of a new plant on site. Initially a Monday–Friday daytime schedule for 1–2 years, with a transition to rotating 12‑hour shifts thereafter.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; proficient in math, written and spoken English
• Strong knowledge of hazardous chemical handling
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow direction and communicate across multiple departments

Responsibilities

• Operate plant to meet productivity targets and handle chemical charges safely
• Monitor process and adjust control parameters
• Conduct routine rounds and participate in shift turnover
• Maintain process control to ensure First Pass Quality
• Complete and accurate turnover; ensure documentation is complete
• Maintain and restock supplies and raw materials for the process area
• Follow safety programs and participate in audits and training
