Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Leadman to assist or act in the absence of the foreman, overseeing the rendering plant operations that convert raw materials into high quality products. The role ensures sanitary facilities and equipment are well-maintained with direct reporting to the Plant Manager.

The Leadman will supervise staff, address mechanical issues, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards across the facility, while coordinating daily production flow and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum three (3) years prior experience in general mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Must have two (2) years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the flow of raw materials to ensure timely production.
• Maintain hourly production schedules end-to-end.
• Evaluate and correct all mechanical problems within the plant.
• Direct and support subordinates as necessary.
• Operate plant production equipment to maintain high-quality finished products.
• Communicate mechanical or technical issues to the foreman/Plant Manager.
• Record process quality control and environmental monitors for authorities.
• Monitor staff performance to uphold high standards.
• Uphold safety rules and conduct regular safety meetings.
• Be available for extended hours and call-in service.
