Responsibilities

• Monitor mining/production costs and product quality, ensuring adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with corporate departments to optimize production schedules and inventory.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with MSHA and other guidelines.
• Manage plant manuals, safety documentation, permits, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Optimize staffing levels and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans.
• Oversee employee selection, performance appraisals, compensation, and talent development.
• Administer labor contracts, work rules, handbooks, and grievances for union and non-union environments.
• Direct multi-location budgeting, cost controls, and periodic financial/operational reporting.
• Build positive community relations and ensure environmental regulatory compliance.

SUMMARY:

Oversee and control operations across multiple plant locations. Direct personnel to deliver high-quality products safely, on schedule, and cost-effectively, while driving profitability and corporate objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead local plant steering teams and implement management systems to foster ownership.


• Establish continuous training in process control, statistical techniques, and troubleshooting.


• Drive continuous improvement programs to boost quality, safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.


• Monitor mining/production costs and product quality, ensuring adherence to standards.


• Collaborate with corporate departments (Sales, Engineering, Safety, Purchasing) to optimize production schedules and inventory.


• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure strict compliance with MSHA and other regulatory guidelines.


• Manage plant manuals, safety documentation, permits, and preventive maintenance programs.


• Optimize staffing levels and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans (fire, flood, equipment protection).


• Oversee employee selection, performance appraisals, compensation, and talent development.


• Administer labor contracts, work rules, employee handbooks, and grievances for union and non-union environments.


• Direct multi-location budgeting, cost controls, and periodic financial/operational reporting.


• Build positive community relations and ensure environmental regulatory compliance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree (technical or engineering major strongly preferred).


• 5+ years in heavy industry required; mining or mineral processing background preferred.


• 2+ years of experience as a Plant Manager.


• Strong knowledge of MSHA or OSHA manufacturing regulations.


• Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.


• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Compensation:

$185,000 per year
