This position is devoted to maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plant(s), dams, and lift stations. Provides specialized technical knowledge and expertise in the preventative and corrective maintenance of treatment plant facilities, lift stations, and related equipment. May coordinate the work assignments of others, ensuring quality control, mentor and train staff, and serve as an escalation point for complex problems. Organizing tasks for more complex technical repairs that include coordination of logistics and handling of unanticipated factors within standard policies and procedures to meet established goals.
Responsible for repairing equipment, piping, and facility components; welding equipment; ensuring equipment alignment; maintaining pump availability; maintaining inventory of critical repair parts to minimize downtime; serving in an on-call capacity; maintaining maintenance information in an electronic maintenance management system; obtaining quotes for repairs; overseeing facility maintenance and cleanliness of work areas; identifying and correcting safety concerns; overseeing projects including interacting with vendors and preparing reports; and serving as emergency standby responder on a rotating basis. May order parts, speak with technical representatives, via phone or in person, and work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) representatives on various pieces of equipment.
