Job summary

The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) seeks a Chief Engineer II in Napa County to oversee Plant Operations, ensuring safe operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, heating, electrical systems and other mechanical equipment serving the Veterans Home. You will supervise staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, respond to emergencies, and support facilities programs.

This is a permanent, full-time position with competitive benefits and a 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Plant Operations staff in operation, maintenance and repair of the heating and electrical plant and related equipment.
• Supervise maintenance programs, safety compliance, and repairs to support the Veterans Home facilities.
