Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company, Renton, WA, is seeking an experienced accounting leader to supervise the plant accounting team and oversee day-to-day and month-end close processes across inventory, payroll and payables. You will ensure accurate valuations, coordinate inventories, and support audits with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 8+ years in accounting, strong analytical skills, and experience in manufacturing or inventory accounting; SAP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS/BA Accounting Degree with increasing responsibility and 8+ years of accounting experience.
• Masters degree highly preferred; CPA preferred is also desirable.
• Experience in manufacturing/inventory accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and motivate staff.
• Manage plant accounting day-to-day and month-end tasks for all accounting areas including inventory, payroll, accounts payable and other receivables.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and coordinate interim inventories; conduct station audits and plan bi-annual physical inventories.
• Coordinate quarterly audits of off-site warehouse inventory with operations to maintain strong controls.
• Prepare timely forecasts, financial reports, cost analyses, inventory reports, reconciliations and budgets.
• Review journal entries, GL reconciliations and account analyses; monitor department expenditures and variances.
• Coordinate with Division Office and auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Support plant projects and provide back-up for other accounting areas as needed.
