Job summary

CSG Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Plans Examiner to perform technical reviews of construction documents for new residential, multi-family, and commercial projects in California.

You will assess life-safety compliance, read plans and calculations, and ensure conformance with the California Building Standards Codes and Reference Standards. You will supervise junior examiners, prepare written and oral reports, and stay updated on evolving codes and standards.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years reviewing plans for conformance to the California Building Standards Codes and Referenced Standards.
• BS in Engineering, Architecture, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• ICC Building/Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing Plans Examiner Certification, or CASp Certification, as required.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, calculations, soils reports and other documents for conformance with California Building Standards Codes and Reference Standards.
• Read and interpret maps, construction diagrams, electronic plans, and specifications for compliance.
• Prepare and present effective oral and written reports.
• Stay current on legal and technical developments pertaining to building construction and codes.
• Supervise Senior or Associate Plans Examiners.
