Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers seeks a Project Manager, Planning, to lead community and land-use planning projects for federal, state, and local clients in Chattanooga. The role blends planning expertise with project leadership to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery aligned with regulatory expectations.

You will coordinate with engineering, environmental, and planning teams, manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder engagements, and mentor staff while advancing challenging urban development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Community/Regional Planning or related field.
• 6+ years of professional planning experience.
• Active AICP certification required.
• Experience managing planning projects and small teams.
• Strong knowledge of zoning and land-use regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning projects from scope development through final adoption.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination with engineering, environmental, and related teams.
• Oversee preparation of comprehensive plans, zoning updates, land-use studies, corridor plans.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Monitor financial performance, including forecasting and budget tracking.
• Lead community engagement efforts including workshops and public meetings.
