Pape-Dawson Engineers seeks an entry-level Planner I in Chattanooga to support community-based planning efforts. You will work with AICP planners, landscape architects, and engineers to develop plans, projects, and policy documents that translate input into actionable design solutions.

The role involves data collection, analysis of demographics and land use, and preparing visuals for planning reports while engaging community stakeholders and ensuring compliance with zoning regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Community/Regional Planning, Urban Planning, or related field.
  • 0-1+ years of related planning experience.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with zoning and land-use regulations; AICP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior staff on planning and design projects for public sector clients.
  • Collect data and conduct research for planning studies on demographics, housing, land use, and transportation.
  • Prepare maps, graphics, and visual materials for reports and presentations.
  • Assist with report writing, findings, recommendations and implementation strategies.
  • Support community engagement activities, including workshops and public meetings.
  • Assist in interpreting and applying zoning codes, land-use regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project consistency and compliance.
