The City of Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Planner within the City Planning Department. This role leads and participates in complex planning work, coordinating with staff and external partners on land use, sustainability, and economic development initiatives.

Responsibilities include policy research, public presentations, and contributing to the Comprehensive Plan while interacting with residents, boards, and agencies. Some evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of full-time work experience in Planning, Urban Design, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or related field.
• Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Public Administration, or related field.
• Equivalency allowed: eight (8) total years combining education and work experience.

Responsabilités

• Performs advanced professional work on key policy issues affecting the City (land use, sustainability, housing, climate, transportation).
• Researches and creates topic-specific plans or policies for Pittsburgh.
• Acts as team lead and coordinates staff on projects.
• Facilitates discussions with divisions, agencies, groups and residents.
• Supports development and implementation of the Comprehensive Plan.
• Attends public meetings/hearings and presents findings to staff and officials.
• Represents DCP at community meetings and conferences as needed.
• Assists in developing grant applications.
• Some evening and weekend work may be required.
