You will evaluate land development proposals, coordinate with City staff and committees, prepare maps and exhibits using GIS and Bluebeam, and manage timelines. A Master’s in urban planning is preferred, with 4–6 years of municipal planning experience (6–8

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4–6 years of staff experience in municipal planning and/or community development; Master’s degree preferred.
• Or 6–8 years of staff experience with a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or a related field.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review land use entitlement applications for a California Public Agency.
• Evaluate complex land development proposals including amendments, rezonings, variances and subdivisions.
• Review Development Agreements and Maintenance Improvement Districts and formulate recommendations.
• Prepare maps and exhibits, GIS visuals, and staff reports for hearings.
• Coordinate with internal/external committees and present findings to decision bodies.
• Interpret City codes and policies, and research code-related issues as needed.
