Urban Planning Partners (UPP) is seeking a Senior Planner/Associate Principal to join our Oakland team. The role focuses on housing policy, CEQA, and entitlement work for diverse Bay Area projects, with leadership on select assignments.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of planning experience (Senior) or 10+ years (Associate Principal), strong project management, and client-facing skills. The position is primarily on-site with a hybrid schedule, offering advancement opportunities and

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience for Senior Planner, with 3–4 years in project management.
• 10+ years of experience for Associate Principal, with 5 years in project management.
• Experience managing multiple projects, client communication, contract and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support projects in housing policy, CEQA, and development entitlements.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in executive management discussions.
• Serve as main client contact, lead meetings, and present to local planning bodies.
• Contribute to proposal development and interview processes.
• Manage scopes, timelines, and budgets to ensure quality control.
