Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom is seeking a Senior Planner Maintenance for a client in the Barceloneta area. This role focuses on coordinating maintenance planning activities, PM program improvements, and ensuring safe, efficient execution of work.

You will work with multiple trades, estimate hours, order parts, support P2P processes, and maintain CMMS data and regulatory compliance while communicating clearly with operations leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in a trade-related field; minimum 10 years in Industrial Mechanics, Electricity, HVAC, Instrumentation, or equivalent years of experience.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a Maintenance Planning role or related maintenance planning tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Multiskilled trades capability; familiar with basic maintenance tools and equipment.
• Knowledgeable of maintenance computer systems and customer policies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with trades, operating departments, and external vendors to meet standards and expectations.
• Plan equipment availability, plant shutdowns, and schedule coordination with maintenance managers.
• Estimate hours, duration, and skills required for work orders.
• Prepare sketches, drawings, or vendor literature to enable tradespeople; order parts from stockroom or vendors.
• Improve PM program data; manage CMMS data, checklists, spare parts, and regulatory compliance.
• Support P2P process (quotes, invoices, payment, PO closing) including procurement of equipment and tools.
• Assist in generation, investigation, and closing of exception reports for accounts payable in Engineering.
• Coordinate shipping of parts or machinery to vendor facilities when needed.

We’re seeking a Senior Planner Maintenance to work with one of our top clients in the Barceloneta area. With us, it’s all about finding a job that’s just right.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinates work with other trades or groups and with operating departments, managers and facility engineers, outside contractors and/or other support service providers, checking on work when completed to assure conformance with standards, codes, specifications, and the expectations of the requestor.
• Identifies opportunities such as planning for equipment availability, plant shutdowns, and coordinating work schedules with maintenance coordinators, managers, or others needing to be aware or involved.
• Estimates required hours on work order tasks, total work order duration, and skills required to perform the task.
• Facilitates communication and coordination for jobs or workload through discussions and meetings, preparation of sketches, drawings, or vendor literature required to enable the tradesperson to perform the work, through ordering parts and materials from stockroom or from vendors.
• Improves integrity of PM program through consideration and maintenance of CMMS data and instruction. (i.e., checklists, thought triggers, spare parts, PM frequency, regulatory compliance, manufacturing schedules, job plan content, preparation of PM request or PM Change Request forms, etc.).
• Procures (Purchase Requisitions) equipment, materials and specialized tools required to perform work, contacting external suppliers to request proposals (Quotations) for service and materials (day-to-day orders, special spending, spare parts and Capital), including changes to Purchase Orders. Support the full P2P process (quotes, invoices, payment, PO closing).
• Assist in the generation, investigation, and closing of exception reports for accounts payable in the Engineering area.
• In case of need to ship out parts, equipment, or machinery to be repaired or maintained, must comply with all applicable documentation processes such as OZ, Take Out Permit, and any other APL documentation requirement.
• Responsible for contacting suppliers and vendors to coordinate shipping of parts, equipment, and machinery to be maintained or repaired in vendor facilities.

Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in a trade-related field, in addition to a minimum of 10 years of experience in Industrial Mechanics, Electricity, HVAC, Instrumentation, or the equivalent in years of experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Maintenance Planning Role or equivalent experience performing maintenance planning related tasks.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have multi-skilled trades capability and be familiar with the application and operation of all basic maintenance tools and equipment used by various trades groups.
• Must be knowledgeable of various computer systems and programs used in maintenance operations.
• Must be knowledgeable of customer policies and procedures involving and impacting maintenance operations.
