SAFEbuilt seeks a Senior Planner to join our nationwide team. You will provide day-to-day advisory support to city planning departments while contributing to zoning code updates and development standards.

You will participate in long-range planning efforts, prepare staff reports for commissions, and manage projects and client relationships based on experience. The role requires strong writing, GIS and office software skills, plus the ability to work independently in a client-facing environment

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience working for a city or county planning agency (staff or consultant) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in planning, landscape architecture, public administration, geography, architecture, civil engineering, environmental sciences, or related field is a plus.
• Experience handling moderately complex to complex development applications required.

Responsabilités

• Provide day-to-day advisory support to city planning departments.
• Support or lead zoning code updates and development standards.
• Contribute to long-range planning efforts (general plans, specific plans, policy studies).
• Prepare staff reports and recommendations for planning commissions and councils.
• Manage projects, budgets, and client relationships (depending on experience level).
