Qualifications

  • Planner I requires Bachelor's in Planning or related field and 1 year of related experience; combinations may be considered.
  • Planner II requires Bachelor's in Planning or related field and 3 years of professional planning experience.
  • Senior Planner requires Bachelor's in Planning or related field and 4 years of progressively responsible professional planning experience; Master's preferred; AICP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform current planning tasks and review development proposals for zoning compliance.
  • Organize meetings with developers and community groups to discuss proposals.
  • Advise on the Comprehensive Plan, ordinances, development process and planning matters.
  • Conduct field inspections and prepare technical staff reports for boards and commissions.
  • Prepare and present planning reports and develop recommendations.
