Job summary

TIC Power District, part of Kiewit, seeks a Piping Superintendent - Power to oversee piping installation and welding for fossil power projects. You will lead field teams, coordinate with engineers and equipment suppliers, and ensure work complies with drawings and tolerances.

The role emphasizes building strong client/vendor relationships, accurate progress tracking, and seamless turnover. Travel and growth opportunities are available in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

8+ years' construction experience with 3+ years being in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity.
Hands-on experience with piping installation and welding; managing piping installation is preferred.
Familiar with ASME B31.1 or B31.3 and AWS welding codes.
Able to read/interpret fabrication drawings, spool drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs.
Familiarity with navigating an engineering 3D model is preferred.
Ability to coordinate with structural, scaffold, insulation, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation trades.
Experience in piping systems testing and commissioning is a plus.
Familiarity with standard rigging practices and methods is a plus.
Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Quickly learn Kiewit’s policies, procedures, and software.
Ability to identify and resolve problems, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong leadership, safety, quality installation, planning, and field execution.

Responsibilities

Mentor and support development of junior superintendents, general foremen, foremen, and field engineers.
Review and approve labor rates to ensure fair compensation and cost control within budget.
Assist management with contract administration and subcontractor coordination.
Maintain positive client and vendor relationships and resolve issues promptly.
Participate in meetings with client, engineer, and equipment manufacturer to address problems and plan.
Provide input for progress and cost updates to support financial control.
Assist in reviewing, approving, and negotiating change orders.
Contribute to development of project completion and turnover plans.
Maintain detailed daily records for documentation and reporting.
