Job summary

Perc Engineering Co., Inc. in Lafayette, LA seeks an experienced piping designer for full-time design of oil & gas production facilities, pipelines, compressor stations, and related equipment.

You will draft and develop equipment and piping systems for upstream and midstream projects onshore and offshore, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring drawings meet project standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of detailed piping design experience in upstream/midstream facilities.
• Experience with AutoCAD and CadWorx 3D modeling software or similar.
• Experience using ISOgen for generation of ISOs.
• Ability to read and create P&IDs and PFDs.
• Ability to create full 3D piping models from P&IDs and equipment location info.
• Willingness to travel to onshore/offshore locations ~25% annually.
• Able to work with pumps, control valves, separators, scrubbers, treaters, etc.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design oil & gas facilities and piping systems for upstream and midstream projects.
• Draft equipment and piping layouts from P&IDs and PFDs.
• Create full 3D piping models and markups from field data.
• Interface with structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
• Report activity and maintain detailed logs for project managers.
• Meet deadlines across multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Job description

This is a Lafayette, LA based full-time position for the design of oil & gas production facilities, pipelines, compressor stations and related facilities. Duties of role to include the drafting and design of equipment and piping systems related to various upstream and midstream facilities for onshore and offshore projects.

Essential Functions

• Possesses a minimum of 15 years’ experience in detailed design of upstream and/or midstream related facilities.
• Experience in AutoCad and Cad Worx 3D modeling software or similar.
• Experience in using ISOgen for generation of ISOs.
• Ability to read and create P&IDs and PFDs.
• Ability to create full 3D piping models from P&IDs and equipment location information.
• Ability to travel to onshore and offshore locations to gather required field data for designs as well as create/ markup as-builts of projects.
• Capable, or at least understand the basics, of pumps, control valves, oil & gas separators, scrubbers, treaters, etc.
• Work both independently and alongside an engineering team to develop both high level and detailed design of mechanical piping systems.
• Ability to interface with other disciplines on a multi-disciplinary team (structural, electrical, and/or instrumentation)
• Report job activity and maintain detailed logs about work activities, reporting to project managers.
• Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
• Ability to meet deadlines working on multiple projects and clients with minimum supervision and taking some responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
• Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensuring that all done is in accordance with the standards of the company and client.
• Solid communications skills and ability to interreact direct with clients, suppliers, and design teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
• 15 Years Minimum experience in detailed piping design of upstream and/or midstream related facilities. (Related oilfield operations and construction experinence will be acceptable)
• 25% – minimum annual average travels
• Must be Able to Work for any US Employer and Not require a work visa.

Education

• Minimum Required:
• Diploma or Associates degree in drafting and design technology
• Experience without Degree will suffice.
• Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology or other related field
