Job summary

RiseMe in Covington, LA seeks a Senior Designer who can perform design work under supervision, understand components, and delegate tasks to drafters.

You will produce detailed AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D drawings, develop piping layouts from P&IDs, equipment layouts, and specifications, and ensure drawings meet standards. Occasional travel and high-paced prioritization are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years related experience in drafting and design.
• Experience with P&ID layouts and equipment spacing.
• Proficient in 3D modeling and producing detailed drawings.
• Ability to delegate work to drafters when required.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and CADWorx software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform design duties using company standards and engineering practices.
• Develop piping (process and utility) drawings from basic information like P&IDs and equipment layouts.
• Generate scaled and non-scaled drawings; print and plot drawings.
• Travel occasionally for field data collection.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of work; communicate with engineers, designers, vendors, and management.
• Lead and delegate work to drafters on assigned projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

Capable of performing design work as assigned and mentored by a Lead Project Designer or Drafting Manager. Senior Designers are required to have a working knowledge of the components they are designing and are capable of generating detailed drawings within their assigned disciplines. Senior Designers will also delegate work to drafters on assigned projects.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Perform design duties utilizing company standards and engineering practices.
• Computer Aided 3D Modeling on assigned projects utilizing AutoCAD.
• Develop design and drafting of piping (process and utility) drawings given basic information such as p&id’s, equipment layouts, piping specifications, etc.
• Capable of generating different types of "scaled" and "non-scaled" drawings.
• Printing, plotting & filling of drawings.
• Occasionally travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments to gather field data.
• Complete high paced assignments through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and executions of assigned work.
• Communicate effectively with a wide diversity of personnel with varying technical backgrounds including engineers, designers, vendors, and management.

Experience: 10+ years related experience

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel & Microsoft Office Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment

Operational Knowledge of the following software is preferred: AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D Modeling, Plant Professional/AutoCAD Plant Professional.
