Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with drafting/design associate degree.
• 10+ years of related drafting/design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D modeling software.
• Working knowledge of Aeries CARS Cable and Raceway Systems.
• Strong MS Word, Excel & Outlook skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design duties per company standards and engineering practices.
• Create 3D models using AutoCAD and CADWorx.
• Generate scaled and non-scaled drawings and maintain drawings.
• Print, plot, and file drawings.
• Occasional travel for field data collection.
• Prioritize, schedule, plan, and execute assigned work.
• Communicate with engineers, designers, vendors, and management.

POSITION SUMMARY

Capable of performing design work as assigned and mentored by a Drafting Manager. Designers are required to have a working knowledge of the components they are designing and are capable of generating detailed drawings within their assigned disciplines. Designers will also delegate work to drafters on assigned projects.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Perform design duties utilizing company standards and engineering practices.
• Computer Aided 3D Modeling on assigned projects utilizing AutoCAD.
• Capably of generating different types of "scaled" and "non-scaled" drawings.
• Printing, plotting & filing of drawings.
• Occasionally travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments to gather field data.
• Complete high paced assignments through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and executions of assigned work.
• Communicate effectively with a wide diversity of personnel with varying technical backgrounds including engineers, designers, vendors, and management.

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), Vocational/Technical “Drafting and Design” 2 year Associates Degree or equal: Required

Experience:

10+ years related experience

Computer Skills:

Operational knowledge of AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D Modeling software. Minimum 1 year experience utilizing Aeries CARS Cable and Raceway Systems database. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel & Microsoft Office Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment.
