Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Pipeline Project Engineer to design and execute midstream projects including natural gas, liquids, CO, hydrogen, and more. The role emphasizes mechanical pipeline engineering, hydraulic calculations, material selection, and end-to-end project execution from concept through construction.

You’ll collaborate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams in a full-service EPCM environment, with long-term stability, growth, and performance-based bonus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, or industrial engineering.
• 10+ years of pipeline engineering experience in natural gas, oil, CO, hydrogen or midstream projects.
• 5+ years direct transmission pipeline experience may be considered.
• Experience with pipeline routing, HDD crossings, facilities design, material takeoffs, and construction documentation.
• Experience performing mechanical pipeline calculations and hydraulic modeling.
• Knowledge of DOT, API, and pipeline design standards.
• Experience supporting project estimates, schedules and planning.
• Ability to work independently in remote or hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and support installation of pipeline systems, compressor stations, valves, pigging facilities, and measurement/regulation equipment.
• Develop pipeline alignment drawings and coordinate routing with survey, environmental and ROW teams.
• Perform engineering calculations: pipe sizing, wall thickness, buoyancy, hydrostatic testing, hydraulic analysis.
• Develop material specifications and bills of materials for procurement and construction.
• Support project scoping, cost estimating and scheduling activities.
• Design HDD crossings and analyze road, railroad, and utility crossings.
• Review drawings and provide technical guidance during project execution.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Manage multiple projects from large capital to several smaller assignments.
