Job summary

DTE Energy is seeking a senior engineer to plan and conduct engineering activities, lead teams of field staff and technicians, and apply advanced principles to solve critical problems. The role includes mentoring staff and directing complex projects across multiple functions.

The successful candidate will manage project workflows, analyze data to drive improvements, and present findings to management. Hybrid work with in-person duties at designated Detroit-area locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates, and directs important projects or field engineering assignments with complex features.
• Performs engineering studies, proposes solutions, and analyzes data to support improvements.
• Interfaces with outside departments, vendors, and reliability entities.
• Develops or assists in presentations of engineering projects to management and external parties.
• Plans and manages group workflow to meet budgets and schedules.
• May mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
