Job summary

Stellantis External CX is seeking a Pipefitter to layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping/plumbing systems for steam, water, sprinkler, and related utilities. The role requires reading blueprints and specifications and performing tasks to support production in a manufacturing setting.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, 4+ years of pipefitting experience or equivalent apprenticeship, and the ability to work varied shifts including overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 4 years of combined experience and training similar to an apprenticeship as a Pipefitter; OR completion of Apprenticeship Certificate; OR 8 years of pipefitter experience; OR 5 years plus 3 years in related trade.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime, including daily, weekends and holidays
• Experience as a pipefitter in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work from blueprints/drawings/layouts or other specifications
• Knowledgeable of pipe sizes and materials according to job specifications
• Ability to measure, cut, thread, bend, file, bur and ream pipe with various tools
• Ability to assemble and install pipe fittings using clamps, brackets, hangers, wrenches and related tools
• Ability to repair and maintain piping components such as valves, traps, toilets, showers, fountains
• Ability to inspect piping systems for malfunctions and repair
• Perform incidental tasks as required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping/plumbing systems and equipment for steam, water, sprinkler, heating, cooling, lubricating and related systems.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, manuals, sketches or similar documents.
• Plan sequence of operation and materials based on pressure capacities and materials.
• Perform incidental tasks to complete larger tasks.
• Repair, replace and maintain defective piping components using hand and power tools.
• Inspect piping systems to detect malfunctions and make repairs.
• Work from blueprints and layouts or other specifications.
