Job summary

UCSF Health in San Francisco is seeking a Physician Coding Manager to lead daily revenue management for Faculty Practice. You will oversee charge capture, coding, edit resolution, reporting, and collections across departments, supporting ~6,000 providers and ~150,000 encounters annually, generating about $16.5M in revenue.

In this role you will liaise with clinicians, coders, and admin staff; ensure coding currency, compliance, and audits; and drive process improvements to improve data quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant experience in medical coding.
• 5+ years of professional medical coding with 3+ years in supervision.
• Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, LCDs, and NCDs.
• Understanding of Medicare and Medi-Cal policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, set priorities, and analyze workflow for revenue cycle activities.
• Oversee daily activities to meet revenue cycle targets and metrics.
• Coordinate provider training and ensure charge capture and coding setup.
• Communicate applicable coding regulations to faculty and staff.
• Conduct coding quality reviews and provide education to staff.
